New footage verified by BBC Verify shows a large plume of smoke billowing over a main road in Sidon, a southern coastal city in Lebanon, following reports of an Israeli strike.
Israel has been carrying out attacks in Lebanon after rockets and drones were launched towards Israel by the Iran-backed armed group Hezbollah.
In the Sidon clip, landmarks and road layout were cross-checked against satellite imagery and street-level mapping, indicating the video was filmed in a commercial area in the north of the city along the Beirut–Saida Highway.
Separately, video posted on Snapchat earlier today from Beirut appears to show a shop on fire to the south of the capital, roughly 2.4km (1.5 miles) from the airport.
The cause of that fire is not yet known. However, visible damage — including what looks like a hole in a shopfront and debris scattered across the street — is consistent with the aftermath of an explosion.
