At least 5,000 people marched through central London on Saturday calling for an end to US–Israeli strikes on Iran, according to the Metropolitan Police.

Demonstrators began at Millbank and headed towards the US Embassy in Vauxhall, chanting slogans including: “We are the people, we won’t be silenced” and “Stop the bombing now, now, now”.

A Met officer estimated the crowd at between 5,000 and 6,000.

Earlier in the day, protesters gathered around Millbank, with a number of tents set up near Victoria Tower Gardens by charities and campaign groups.
