Sky News is reporting that the next repatriation flight for UK nationals is expected to leave Oman later this evening.
It follows the first government-chartered flight for British citizens, which landed back in the UK early this morning.
Sky says the first flight — operated by Titan Airways — departed Muscat yesterday afternoon, stopped to refuel in Egypt, and then arrived at London Stansted Airport.
Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy has also defended the government’s response, telling broadcasters it is “absolutely not” embarrassed by its handling of the crisis since the Iran war began.
