Oman’s capital, Muscat, is increasingly being used as a departure point for repatriation flights from the Middle East, as commercial aviation remains heavily disrupted across the region.
Flight-tracking platform Flightradar24 said the closure of airspace to regular commercial traffic in Qatar, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates is shifting activity towards Muscat. In a post on X on Thursday, it noted that around 30% of flights arriving or departing Muscat were private jets, highlighting a surge in privately arranged departures.
