The Israeli military says it has carried out a broad bombardment of Beirut from both the air and the sea, using roughly 200 munitions in strikes on the Lebanese capital.

According to the military, about 70 sites across the Beirut area have been hit so far, including around 50 tower blocks.

Earlier, we reported that the number of people killed in Israeli attacks on Lebanon had risen to 634, among them 91 children.
