Iran’s UN envoy says almost 10,000 civilian locations have been struck

Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations has accused the UN Security Council of failing to respond adequately to the continuing US-Israeli offensive against his country.

Amir-Saeid Iravani said it was deeply disappointing that the council had, in his view, remained silent despite its duty under the UN charter to safeguard international peace and security.

He claimed that close to 10,000 civilian locations had been targeted, including roughly 8,000 homes, and said the number of people killed had now risen above 1,300.

Iravani warned that the consequences of the conflict could extend far beyond Iran, arguing that any sovereign nation could face similar treatment if the international community failed to act.

He also urged UN member states to denounce what he described as US-Israeli aggression, saying it represented a grave challenge to international law.
