Iran has carried out missile attacks on Kurdish armed opposition groups based in Iraq’s Kurdistan region, according to Iranian state television.
The report said Iranian forces hit positions belonging to what Tehran described as “separatist” anti-Iran groups operating from the semi-autonomous Kurdish region in northern Iraq.
The strikes come amid wider regional escalation and claims — not independently verified — that the US is coordinating with some Kurdish opposition factions in Iraq, some of whom have suggested they could enter the conflict against Iran.
