Analyst says prolonged war could tilt towards Iran if US and Israel face interceptor shortages

Political analyst and Jedaal TV host Ali Alizadeh argues Iran may be better placed to sustain a long conflict than the US and Israel, because time and production capacity could work in Tehran’s favour.

Speaking from London, Alizadeh said Iran’s defence strategy relies heavily on domestically produced missiles and drones that are comparatively cheaper than Western air-defence systems. He said:

“If this war becomes any longer, I think it would be in benefit of Iran,”

He suggested that while Trump has talked about preparing for several weeks of fighting, the longer a conflict drags on, the greater the pressure becomes — pointing to the strain felt during last June’s shorter Israel–Iran confrontation.

A key factor, he said, will be whether Israel and the US can maintain stocks of interceptors and other air-defence munitions used to protect Israeli cities and US bases in the region — and what cost they are willing to accept if those supplies run low.

Alizadeh also echoed the argument that Trump was pulled into the war by Israel, and said the US may have underestimated the resilience of Iran’s governing system, describing it as “resilient” and “flexible”.
