Amnesty International Secretary‑General Agnes Callamard called Israel’s cabinet approval to broaden its offensive, including a takeover of Gaza City, “utterly outrageous and revolting.”  

She warned the expansion would bring further mass atrocities, intensify the already‑severe starvation crisis, and violate international law.  

Callamard said the escalation marks a new, brutal chapter in the Gaza genocide – “the worst is yet to come.”
