US offers up to $10m for information on Mojtaba Khamenei and Larijani

The US State Department is offering rewards of up to $10m for information on a number of senior Iranian figures, including Mojtaba Khamenei and Ali Larijani.

The appeal was issued through the department’s Rewards for Justice programme, which called for details on what it described as Iranian terrorist leaders. It said anyone providing relevant information could also be eligible for relocation.

According to the notice, the individuals named are accused by Washington of directing elements of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, which the US says is involved in planning and carrying out terrorist activity internationally.

Those listed by the US include intelligence minister Esmail Khatib, deputy chief of staff Ali Asghar Hejazi, Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi, Brigadier General Eskandar Momeni and Supreme National Security Council secretary Ali Larijani.

Earlier on Thursday, Larijani appeared at al-Quds Day demonstrations in Tehran and shared images of his attendance.
