US names six service personnel killed in Iraq aircraft crash

The US Department of Defense has identified the six military personnel who died in Thursday’s refuelling aircraft crash in Iraq.

They were named as Major John A Klinner, 33; Captain Ariana G Savino, 31; Technical Sergeant Ashley B Pruitt, 34; Captain Seth R Koval, 38; Captain Curtis J Angst, 30; and Technical Sergeant Tyler H Simmons, 28.

The Pentagon said the cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Their deaths bring the number of US personnel killed in the Iran war to at least 13, with seven others previously reported killed in combat.

The Pentagon has also said around 140 American troops have been wounded during the conflict, including eight who are said to have suffered serious injuries.
