A CIA station operating at the US embassy complex in Riyadh was reportedly hit during a drone attack on Monday, according to US media.
Both the United States and Saudi Arabia have confirmed that two drones struck the embassy compound, but it is not clear whether any intelligence facilities were the intended target. Reuters reported there was no indication the “spy hub” was specifically targeted.
The Washington Post, citing a State Department security alert it said it obtained, reported that the strike partially collapsed part of the roof, left the interior filled with smoke, and caused structural damage. The alert reportedly instructed staff to continue sheltering in place.
