The Ministry of Defence says British forces in the Middle East remain on active defensive duties overnight.

According to the MoD, RAF Typhoon and F-35 aircraft continue flying defensive missions, including operations linked to Cyprus, Jordan, Qatar and Bahrain.

The department also says a UK ground-based counter-drone team working in what it describes as a “high-threat area” successfully brings down an Iranian drone overnight.

The MoD adds that force protection measures across the region remain at what it calls “the highest levels”.
