The United Arab Emirates says its air defences intercepted nine ballistic missiles and 109 drones today, according to the Defence Ministry.

The ministry added that three additional drones were detected and fell within UAE territory.

Earlier this morning, residents in Dubai and Abu Dhabi were advised to take shelter following reports of incoming missile threats.
