As the escalating war in Iran enters its ninth day, Iranian authorities say the United States and Israel have bombed four oil storage depots in and around Tehran. An Israeli source told CNN that striking Iran’s oil storage sites is part of the next phase of the campaign.

While US President Donald Trump has suggested the air campaign against Tehran could kill Iran’s potential leadership and destroy the Iranian military, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has insisted it can sustain “at least six months” of what it called a fierce war against Washington and Tel Aviv.

Separately, members of Iran’s Assembly of Experts have said the council has chosen a new supreme leader, though no name has been announced publicly.
