Tehran resident describes terrifying night of continuous strikes

A resident of Tehran has spoken of a deeply frightening night in the Iranian capital, describing drones flying low over residential blocks as bombardments continued without pause.

Speaking to CNN, the resident said the aircraft were passing so close to buildings that the experience felt overwhelming and relentless.

They said bombing nearby had gone on continuously through the night, with one strike following another and little sign of any let-up.

The resident added that it was hard to imagine how anyone could endure such an assault, saying there were fears whole areas could be left devastated.

Drone attacks were still being reported across Iran on Thursday. Iran’s state-linked Fars news agency said Israeli strikes in Tehran had targeted checkpoints used by the Basij and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

Earlier in the day, the United Nations said as many as 3.2 million people in Iran may already have been displaced, with many leaving cities for rural areas in search of safety.
