BREAKING From: Live: US and Israel attack Iran as Trump declares “major combat operations”

Six more US troops killed in Iran war as conflict enters second week

The number of American fatalities in the war with Iran has risen again, with US Central Command confirming that all six crew members on board a refuelling aircraft that crashed in Iraq on Wednesday have died.

CNN estimates that more than 2,000 people, including both civilians and military personnel, have now been killed since the conflict began, as the fighting stretches into its 14th day.

Here are the other main developments:

A growing fuel crisis is adding to international concern. According to the latest figures from AAA, average petrol prices in the United States have risen by a further three cents a gallon to $3.63, the highest level in 22 months.

The Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important shipping lanes for energy supplies, has effectively been shut by the war, helping to drive a broader global surge in fuel costs.
