More Iranian attacks reported across Gulf as air defences intercept incoming fire

Fresh reports suggest Iran is continuing a wider campaign of attacks across the Gulf region, including Qatar, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Kuwait — with many of the incoming missiles and drones said to have been intercepted.

Reporting from Doha, Al Jazeera’s Aksel Zaimovic said most of the latest attacks appear to have been met by air-defence systems, though details remain difficult to independently verify in real time.

Key developments reported:

  • Saudi Arabia: The Defence Ministry said air defences intercepted three ballistic missiles heading towards Prince Sultan Air Base, marking the second such incident reported in recent days.

  • Bahrain: Authorities have reported earlier that two hotels and a residential building were targeted in the capital, with no casualties reported.

  • Kuwait: The military reported missiles and drones were directed at the country overnight. Videos circulating online purport to show an explosion and fire near an airbase south of Kuwait City, though these clips have not been independently verified. The US embassy in Kuwait has also announced a temporary suspension of services, citing security concerns.

  • Qatar: Officials said air defences intercepted 13 missiles, while one missile reportedly fell into Qatar’s territorial waters.
