Missile debris falls near Tel Aviv after Iranian barrage is intercepted

Fragments from Iranian missiles have come down in areas close to Tel Aviv after Israeli air defences intercepted incoming projectiles.

Channel 12 reported that debris landed in Lod and Ness Ziona, both near Tel Aviv, following the attempted interception of missiles fired from Iran.

The broadcaster said air raid sirens were activated across parts of central and southern Israel, while explosions were heard as defensive systems responded.

Police and emergency teams were sent to the affected areas to inspect the sites and assess any damage.

Witnesses also told Anadolu news agency that loud blasts were heard in Jerusalem and across the West Bank, with missile fragments said to have fallen in Masafer Yatta after further interceptions.

There were no immediate reports of casualties.
