Iranian state television has broadcast funerals for students killed in what Iranian authorities say was a US–Israeli strike on a school in southern Iran on Saturday, according to BBC Monitoring.
The footage showed coffins draped in the Islamic Republic flag being carried through a large crowd, alongside a voiceover describing the grief of parents who had lost their daughters.
The broadcast also claimed that more than 160 graves had been prepared for those killed in the attack.
The school is reported to be near an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) base that has previously been targeted. The US Central Command said it was looking into the reports, while the Israeli military said it was “not aware” of any operations in the area.
