Iran health ministry issues new casualty and hospital impact update

Iran’s Health Ministry spokesperson Hossein Kermanpour has released new figures on the human and medical impact of the strikes, saying:

  • More than 2,000 injured people are currently being treated in hospital

  • More than 625 surgeries have been carried out so far

  • The youngest patient is a four-month-old baby girl from Poldokhtar in Lorestan province (western Iran)

  • The oldest patient is a 94-year-old woman from Saqqez in Kurdistan province (north-western Iran)

  • Of those reported killed, 198 are women

  • The deaths include eight healthcare workers

  • 30 healthcare workers have been injured

  • The ministry says 11 hospitals, eight emergency medical centres and 12 ambulances have been damaged by missiles
