Al Jazeera Arabic is reporting that Beirut’s southern suburbs are coming under the most intense bombardment seen since the conflict began.
Israel had continued to carry out strikes in Lebanon even before the current war, despite the 2024 ceasefire with the Iran-backed group Hezbollah. Since then, it has expanded its campaign with air raids across the country and the deployment of ground forces into areas near the border.
According to local authorities, the attacks have killed 634 people, including 91 children, while more than 800,000 others have been displaced.
