An explosion was heard in Doha after Qatar’s armed forces intercepted a missile attack targeting the country, according to the Qatari Defence Ministry.

Earlier, news agencies AFP and Reuters reported hearing a blast in the capital.

Qatar said its air defences had successfully intercepted the incoming missile. No immediate details were given on casualties, damage or where the missile was launched from.
