Bahrain’s military says it has “successfully” intercepted and destroyed 74 missiles and 92 drones since Saturday, after Iran began launching attacks on targets across the Middle East.

The statement did not give a figure for failed interceptions or projectiles that may have landed.

In an update shared on social media, Bahrain’s General Command said the use of ballistic missiles and drones to target civilian infrastructure and private property was a “flagrant violation” of international humanitarian law and the UN Charter, citing the principles of distinction and proportionality.

It described the strikes as “indiscriminate and heinous attacks” and said they posed a direct threat to regional peace and security.
