Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz said on Sunday 8 November that Israel's mission against Iran is "still not complete", accusing Tehran of trying to revive its pursuit of nuclear weapons.
"With regard to Iran, the mission is still not complete. Iran is trying to renew its efforts to obtain nuclear weapons."
Katz was speaking at a memorial ceremony for soldiers killed in Operation Kadesh, according to AFP via Arab News. He said those efforts came alongside "other grave efforts that place the State of Israel in real danger".
i24NEWS reports that Katz also said Israel would pursue a proactive, offensive policy and must be ready for any scenario. CBS News reads the remarks as hinting at renewed attacks on Iran.
This is the first on-the-record comment from an Israeli minister in line with Friday's Yedioth Ahronoth report that the military is keeping ready for a possible strike. Katz did not announce any decision to strike.
Iran denies that it is seeking nuclear weapons. Katz's claim has not been independently checked.
