The UN Human Rights Office for the Occupied Palestinian Territory has documented 17 Israeli attacks “on or near health facilities in Gaza City” since September 16, as Israel intensifies its offensive on the territory’s most densely populated area.
According to the UN, al-Quds Hospital, al-Rantisi Children’s Hospital, and the Medical Relief Health Centre were directly hit, while strikes also occurred near al-Shifa and al-Ahli hospitals.
“These attacks are leaving sick and wounded civilians with nowhere to turn for life-saving treatment, as the assault on civilians and vital infrastructure continues to cause mass casualties,” the office warned. “Immediate protection, access to healthcare, and humanitarian aid are essential.”
As of September 25, Gaza’s Health Ministry reported that only seven of the 13 hospitals in Gaza City remain functional—“but only barely.”
