MoneyWeek reports that the Chancellor, John Healey, used the Budget on 28 October to scrap the cash ISA reform that was due to take effect from April 2027.
The claim appears in a reader Q&A the outlet published on 6 November. It also says the Chancellor changed the Lifetime ISA 'unauthorised' withdrawal charge.
The same piece gives details of the First Time Buyer ISA. MoneyWeek says it is due from April 2029 with a £450,000 property price cap.
In a separate poll piece, also published on 6 November, MoneyWeek says capital gains tax and dividend tax rates were left unchanged. It says Healey said he would explore a 'Starter ISA' to encourage first-time investors, with little detail given.
These claims come from a single outlet and have not been independently checked against the Budget documents.
