The Chancellor, John Healey, will outline a new defence 'offsets' policy shortly after the Budget, the Spectator reports.
Under the policy as the Spectator describes it, a company supplying military kit that is not made in Britain would have to create part of the value in the UK through British supply chains.
The magazine says the policy will come 'shortly after' the Budget, which suggests it is unlikely to feature in Wednesday's statement itself.
The Treasury has not confirmed the report, and the details have not been independently checked.
