The Chancellor, John Healey, will allocate more than £1bn for social and affordable housing in today's Budget, according to a roundup published by AOL UK.
Property Week has also reported the commitment, under the headline "Healey to unveil extra £1bn for affordable housing at Budget".
The AOL UK roundup does not say over what period the money would be spent.
The Treasury has not confirmed the sum. Until it appears in the Chancellor's statement to the Commons, it remains a report.
