Coalition revises count of Houthi missiles intercepted; Qatar, Bahrain and Syria condemn

The Saudi-led coalition now says its air defences destroyed a drone and four missiles fired by the Houthis on Sunday 8 November. That is more than the three ballistic missiles it reported earlier in the day.

In a later statement reported by Middle East Monitor, citing Anadolu, coalition spokesman Maj Gen Turki al-Maliki said the four missiles were two ballistic and two cruise missiles. He said the drone was aimed at the southern region.

Shafaq News, also citing al-Maliki, reports a different figure of five missiles destroyed, launched towards Riyadh and the Eastern Province.

The coalition's own accounts of Sunday's attacks do not match. The earlier statement gave three ballistic missiles. The later one gives two ballistic and two cruise missiles plus a drone. Outlets are reporting different totals.

Qatar, Bahrain and Syria have condemned the Houthi attacks on Riyadh, Arab News reports. Bahrain called for UN action, and Syria's foreign ministry reaffirmed its support for Saudi Arabia.
