US Central Command announced on Friday 6 November that it is offering up to $20m, and possible relocation, for information on Iran's nuclear programme, CBS News reports.
According to CBS, the reward covers information about the programme itself, its facilities, equipment or personnel. The offer of relocation had not been reported before.
CBS's account of who issued the reward differs from CNN's. CNN, which first reported the offer on 7 November, attributed it to the State Department. The two reports have not been reconciled, and the announcement itself has not been independently checked.
The reward comes despite Donald Trump's repeated claims to have obliterated Tehran's capabilities. Iran has warned that any US attack on its nuclear facilities would be treated as an expansion of the war, CNN reports.
