Iranian Missile Reportedly Evades Israel’s Iron Dome

An Iranian missile appears to have bypassed Israel’s Iron Dome air defence system during a fresh wave of attacks, according to Al Jazeera’s Bernard Smith, reporting from Amman.

Smith noted that within the past hour, Israel was struck by two rounds of Iranian missile fire. Although the Israeli Home Front Command has now issued an “all clear,” suggesting the immediate threat has passed, evidence indicates that at least one missile managed to penetrate Israeli defences.

Israel has previously acknowledged that its Iron Dome system cannot intercept every projectile, though it successfully stops the vast majority. However, as Smith points out, “those that do get through can cause serious damage if they strike a populated or strategic site.”

The full extent of the impact remains unclear, partly due to Israel’s strict wartime military censorship. Sensitive locations — such as military installations — cannot be publicly identified in media reports, leaving uncertainty about what, if anything, may have been hit.
