Civilians in Gaza are facing lethal conditions simply to access essential aid, with reports of intense competition and gunfire at distribution points.

Hamza Jouda, waiting for flour in the Morag area, reports being turned away empty-handed amidst a dangerous environment of tanks and ongoing gunfire. He describes the situation as “criminal” and “deadly.”

Nidal Qawasami, travelling from Shati refugee camp, stated he and others are “risking death” for even a small amount of assistance, due to soaring prices and a lack of available food. He estimates daily fatalities linked to aid distribution are between six and ten.

Qawasami criticises the chaotic distribution process, noting the absence of proper identification checks allows hoarding and exacerbates starvation. He argues for a fair, ID-based system for all.
