The two-point rise in tax on property and savings income will raise £4.3bn over the next five years, the Telegraph reports. It is the first reported figure for what the measure brings in.
According to the Telegraph, almost £2bn of that comes from landlords and almost £2.4bn from savers.
The Telegraph also reports the new rates as 24% for basic rate, 44% for higher rate and 49% for additional rate taxpayers. That matches earlier reports from City AM and MoneyWeek.
The Treasury has not confirmed the £4.3bn figure or the rates, and the figures have not been independently checked.
