The Chancellor, John Healey, has confirmed on the record that he will put £15m into tackling misogyny. The money will be paid at £5m a year for three years, LBC reports.
Speaking on Tuesday 27 October, the eve of the Budget, Healey said the money would:
"back practical action to tackle misogyny head on"
According to LBC, the money will pay for schemes including mentoring for young people, workplace training and communications campaigns on the safety of women and girls.
The total matches the £15m first reported by the Guardian, which said the fund would be led by the Women and Equalities Minister, Bridget Phillipson. The types of scheme Healey named also match the Guardian's account of youth mentoring, workplace training and awareness campaigns.
