Tory leader Kemi Badenoch will co-host a lunch for founders, investors and chief executives at Goldman Sachs' City office on 5 November, a week after the Budget, City AM reports.
The paper says her co-host will be Anthony Gutman, chief executive of Goldman Sachs International. It describes the event as an extension of the Conservatives' pitch to the City.
The lunch comes as the Chancellor, John Healey, is tipped to raise the bank surcharge. City AM says a rise is "highly predicted" and would raise about £2bn. This is a press expectation and is not confirmed policy.
According to City AM, Badenoch urged Healey not to cave to the Labour left and unions on a bank tax rise during a visit to Edinburgh last week.
