The content is a list of 34 dated maritime-security notices running from 28 September to 18 October 2026. Their format, wording and warning numbers (e.g. 148-26 to 177-26) match the 'Recent Incidents' feed published by the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO). Research confirmed most high-priority claims. Primary UKMTO documents on ukmto.org back three of them: the tug attack off Khor Fakkan (177-26), the crude-oil tanker hit 4nm east of Oman (149-26), and the LNG tanker and skiff incident off Yemen (176-26). Several independent outlets (Reuters via gCaptain, Arab News, Al Arabiya, Seatrade Maritime, Maritime Executive, Marine Insight, Ship & Bunker, Lloyd's List Intelligence and others) report the rest with matching details. Examples include the RPG attack 78NM north-east of Al Jubayl, the drone (UAV) strike near Sohar, the attack with casualties 51NM north of Madinat ash Shamal, the IRGC turn-back order near Khasab, the 50,000-tonne and 19,000-tonne container ships, and the vessel set on fire west of Al Jazeera, UAE. There is one material discrepancy. The text puts the LNG tanker incident 140NM *south-west* of Al Mukalla, but the UKMTO-hosted JMIC Advisory Note (Update 106) and two dated secondary outlets say *south-east*. One social-media post does repeat 'south-west', so the original warning may have used that wording and been corrected later. This claim is therefore marked Disputed, not False. A few individual time-late notices (6 Oct crude tanker; 4 Oct 150-26) could not be matched to their own independent report and stay Unverified. The text also has small typos ('stuck', 'assafe', a stray 's'), names no source, and says nothing about the wider context. UKMTO itself has said many attacked vessels do not report to it, so the list is incomplete, and at least one container ship hit in this period later sank.

What checked out (22)

  • 18 Oct 2026 (UKMTO WARNING 177-26): a southbound tug north-east of Khor Fakkan, UAE was struck by 2 unknown projectiles. It sustained damage but continued its route; one minor casualty. Confirmed by the primary UKMTO PDF and by Arab News and Middle East Eye.

Confirmed in aggregate by gCaptain ('Five Hormuz Incidents Reported Monday', which notes time-late reports covering 3–4 Oct), Seatrade Maritime and Iran International.

✕ Disputed claims 1 claim ⌄
  • DISPUTED (not False): the text says the 17 Oct LNG tanker and skiff incident was '140NM southwest of Al Mukalla'. The UKMTO-hosted JMIC Advisory Note Update 106 (18 Oct 2026), ANI (17 Oct 2026) and Iran International (17 Oct 2026) all say '140 NM southeast'. An NTC Report post on X repeats 'southwest', so the original UKMTO warning may have used that wording before a later correction. Marked Disputed until the original UKMTO 176-26 PDF can be checked.
? Unverified claims 3 claims ⌄
  • 6 Oct 2026: a time-late report of a crude oil tanker struck in the Strait of Hormuz on 06 OCT, with no casualties. I found no independent report matched to this specific notice. The Iran International item of 6 Oct seems to describe the 5 Oct notice (157-26). The claim is plausible given the pattern of incidents, but not independently confirmed.
  • 4 Oct 2026 (UKMTO WARNING 150-26): a tanker master reported being struck, with engine-room damage; crew safe. I found no independent report specific to warning number 150-26. It is consistent with the cluster of 4 Oct reports.
  • Exact incident timings marked 'TBC', and the stated tonnages beyond the two container ships, rely only on UKMTO wording. UKMTO itself warns that its assessments depend on information from vessels.

Confidence

High (approx. 85%) — Two primary UKMTO warning PDFs and one UKMTO-hosted JMIC note directly confirm key items, and dated reports from several reputable maritime and news outlets confirm about 90% of the 34 notices with matching specific details (distances, tonnages, damage, casualties, warning numbers). Confidence is reduced for four reasons: (1) the unresolved bearing conflict for the Al Mukalla incident; (2) two notices with no specific independent confirmation; (3) some secondary outlets relay the same wire copy, so they are not fully independent; and (4) the text has no attribution, minor typos, and leaves out context in a crisis that is still changing quickly.
