Our [Armed Forces]( are playing a vital role to protect our people, our interests and our Allies." The interception and destruction of the drone is the joint squadron's first operational interception in defence of Qatar. Armed Forces Minister Al Carns commended the RAF for the interception. In a post on X, he wrote: "The professionalism of our RAF is remarkable....good work...keep it going." RAF Typhoons and F-35s have also been conducting defensive missions from a British base in Cyprus.
